Ms Yan Yue Joyce Shum
  • Joyce is a full-time PhD student at HKU Sociology. She received her bachelor’s degree in social sciences from The University of Hong Kong and completed her master’s degree in criminal justice policy at The London School of Economics and Political Science.

     

    Her research interests cover various topics around the theme of crime and deviance, including cyber security and technology crime, policing, criminal justice, and drugs. Prior to her PhD studies, she worked as a research assistant at local universities for different projects, where she explored topics such as the regulation of Web 3, fake news detection among college students, and drug use and policies using ethnographic methods and in-depth interviews.
